Zoe Louise, sometimes signing off as MelzieQ, is a multidisciplinary artist from New Zealand. Her practice explores the things we cannot touch, yet carry as if heavy.

In late 2021 life for Zoe took a dramatic turn, heavily impacting the way she painted and what art meant to her. Everything started to come from within, there was no other choice.

Coinciding with world events and no way to exhibit her latest work, Zoe moved into the digital realm with a nine piece collection on Ethereum. She would spend the next two years minting works about great loss, finding breath and perspective in the simple act of sharing.

In 2024, seeking more permanence for her digital work, Zoe discovered Ordinals. She has since inscribed over 500 works, and continues to be mesmerised by the protocol that locks pixels into Bitcoin.

Themes of finality, great change, new life and legacy riddle her mind and naturally bleed into the work. No decision is random. Every petal, concept, collection, metadata and satoshi is considered, from studio to permanence.
