As The Veil Falls

I once believed the sky bowed softly to my sorrow, that clouds would silence and sit with me. The flowers would lean to listen, the wind would hold its breath. Even shadows once felt kind.

But time moves like moonlight. Not cruel, only certain. And I, no longer cloaked in the soft veil of innocence, stood still as the world forgot to wait. I called out not for help, but just to see if anything would whisper.

Nothing did.

The sun no longer wept when I cried. But it warmed me all the same.
